Hello

I am back today with another card for JayGee's Nook. I have used a new set from BasicGrey/Hero Arts called 'Brilliant'. I have also used the 'totally' sentiment from Paper Smooches. I masked all the pencils in the jar, and used dimensionals to pop up the stars and pennant.

Crochet {two}

Hello

Here is another crochet project that I was asked to do a couple of weeks before Christmas. A Christening Shawl. It needed to be done before I went away and I had no pattern, but I did have a chrochet shawl that my oldest son recieved when he was born, so I copied that.

I am sorry but I don't have the exact measurements, and I was so rushed with it, I didn't write the pattern down ...

Fortunately I was able to work out the correct stitches and did more rows on each section as the yarn and crochet hook were a different size.

Yarn: 'Spring clour' Cotton (Benidgo Wool Mills)

Hook: 4.5 mm

Crochet {one}

For the past 12 months I have been going through a 'crochet faze'. This was my first rug, and I have used lots of 'granny squares'. 294 to be exact. By the time I had sewed them all together it was quite large.

For the edging I did 1 row of double (dc), and then another row of treble(tr) with shell pattern at the seam of every square.

I have decided to start recording my crochet here on my blog. I hope that is ok with all my papercrafting friends. I just want to keep a detailed record of my wool craft too.

The yarn that I have used for this rug is from Bendigo Wool Mills. The yarn is 'classic' and comes in a 200g ball (which is great for rugs), and the colours are:

JayGee's Nook Challenge 14

Good Morning Crafty People,

I can't believe that another month has flown by... but here we are, the last Sunday in November. And this means a new CHALLENGE for JayGee's Nook. I don't know about you, but with this challenge I have finally started my little gift baskets for all my boys' teachers. Here is the inspiration photo, and it should certainly get your Christmas juices flowing (Hahahaha!).

I have kept my design very CAS (this certainly helps when you have a lot to do LOL!), I have used MFT heart and snowflake die (sprinkled with dazzling diamonds), and a simple sentiment from Hero Arts.

For this little gift box I have used a simple christmas tree from Hero Arts and some absolutely gorgeous paper from MME 'Breeze'

Here is my card this week, and I used my super cute Paper Smooches 'Halloweenies' set and created a birthday card ... I have hand drawn the birthday hat with my copic multi-liner and then coloured with copics. For my card this week, I used a technique that I have been wanting to try for a while. First I embossed the flowers with clear embossing powder, then stamped the text ramdomly and then I sponged some colour over it all. I masked off the bottom 2cm for the sentiment. I then coloured the rhinestones and ribbon with my copics to match.

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to another week with JAYGEE'S NOOK DT. Just before I get to my card, HAVE YOU SEEN ALL THE CHRISTMAS GOODIES ARRIVING IN THE SHOP! For some reason I am super keen to get some Christmas Stamping started (and I think I should make the most of it! LOL!).

For my card this week I have used the Hero Arts/BasicGrey set 'Sweet threads labesl'. It's very CAS and the little flower on the side is from Hero Arts/Basic Grey 'Luscious patterned flowers'. Well, another month has flown by (OMG! Christmas is just around the corner, how scary is that?). Anyway back to today's post, it is Challenge time here at JayGee's Nook, and to say I was very excited with the inspiration photo that Judith has put together would be an understatement ha! It's all about the 'colour purple', and even though I don't use it often I do love it, and for my card today I have used a set that has been hiding in my stash of PTI stamps for quite a while and until now hasn't been inked up called 'Studio Style'.

Good Morning All

Welcome to another week with JAYGEE'S NOOK DT. Today I am showing you a card made with a super cute set from Lawn Fawn called 'Clear to See'. There are 4 sentiments and 3 sets of cool glasses to choose from. I had to laugh because my sister used to wear a pair of glasses like these pink ones when we were little, I called them 'cats eye' glasses Hahahaha!

It's Sunday morning here in Oz, and that means another DT post from JayGee's Nook. My card this week uses the new Hero Arts/BasicGrey background stamp called 'Hello Luscious'. I have stamped in versamark, embossed in white and then spomged my colour on (a bit hit and miss, but I like the way it looks). I have also coloured the flower in with my copics to match.

My card is very clean and simple, but I have used double dimensionals to pop that present up and crystal effects on the ribbon (you can't really see it in the photo).

For my card this week, I have kept it very clean and simple using Jane's Doodles set 'Jane's Bakery'. I have layered the cake with 3 tiers, used crystal effects on the icing and used my plaid background stamp on the cake too. I don't think you can see all the detail on the cake in the photo, but it looks really cool IRL.

Simple Birthday Card

Don't you just love the pressure of having to do a really quick card, in like 20 minutes. Last weekend this happened to me and it was super stressful, because lately I like to think about what I am going to do for a couple of days and then just sit down and do it. It doesn't always work out, but at least the idea is there ...

Here is a really simple card (I actually made 2 - almost identical LOL!).

Hi Everyone and welcome to another week with JayGee's Nook DT. This week I am using the very cute Lawn Fawn set called 'Fly Free'. I have also used the gimgham paper from A Muse (which is being discontinured - so grab some while stocks last!).

As you may or may not know, North Queensland had a category 5 cyclone this week. And Judith (owner of JayGee's Nook) was right in the middle of it. Luckily Judith and her family are ok, but they were without power and electricity for over 50 hours. We have certainly been having some extreme weather around the globe this week!

Onto my card ....I needed a couple of birthday cards this week and so I mixed and matched a few different sets. But first, let me just say that the gingham paper from A Muse is definitely a must have in anyones stash. LOVE IT! Here I have only used the lemon, but it comes in lots of other gorgeous colours. The sentiment is from a Pure Innocence set called 'Presents for you' (A christmas set by the way). And again I have used Lawn Fawn's 'Judy's Blooms'.

Welcome to another week with JayGee's Nook Design Team. This week I am showing you a card using Japanese masking tape and the 'Retro Christmas' set by Practicing Creativity.

For the long ornament I laid masking tape onto some scrap card, then used PTI's 'vintage ornament' die to cut it out. I then coloured some clear rhinestones with my copics (V99) and put them on the ornament. I am very happy with how this turned out, and will be using this method again.

Copic Storage

I have finally purchased some copics (sketch). I have had a play with them (thanks Sue), and last month there was a really big special, so I thought why not.. It's a bit daunting trying to pick which colours to buy, so for most of mine I have used the trios that I found on the PTI website. With the AUD dollar being a bit fabulous at the moment, I have just purchased some more Woohoo!

Anyway, a while back I was blog surfing and came across Debbie's post with her new copics storage unit, that her DH whipped up. Debbie got her inspiration from HERE. I printed out the pictures and handed it to my DH and said "can you make this ??". And TADAA! here is the finished product .....

Funny story tho .... I had just popped all my copics in the box and my Hubby said 'you don't have many' to which I replied 'no, not yet LOL!'
